In this post we will install Repository Creation Utility (RCU) version 11.1.1.7.0
The RCU will define the database schema that SOA Suite uses to accomplish its tasks, such as auditing and etc ..
The installation is being done on Ubuntu Linux 64bit version: 4.14, the minimum hardware and software for Oracle 11g SOASuite installation can be found here: http://docs.oracle.com/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm
The facility is divided into parts as follows, see the link each to see the other Parties:
- Part 1: Oracle Database XE 11g
- Part 2: Java SE Development Kit 7 – JDK
- Part 3: Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6
- Part 4: Repository Creation Utility (RCU) 11.1.1.7.0

- Part 6: Soa Developer Domain
- Part 7: Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0
Download Repository Creation Utility 11.1.1.7.0
Download the required file using the link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/downloads/soasuite11gdownload-2210918.html
Here, click Accept License Agreement
Select the Generic: 64bit JVM
In Prerequisites & Recommended Install Process click the plus sign to expand and click next to Linux Repository Creation Utility 11.1.1.7.0
You see the Login screen below if you do not have an account please create it will be necessary for the other downloads.
Made Login will see the message below: then choose the Save File option and click OK to save our file:
Performed the download, the file ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.7.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip might have been saved in the folder ../Downloads
Now let’s unpack our archive ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.7.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip
Enter the folder where was downloaded and unzip the file:
sudo unzip ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.7.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip
Note that within the Download folder it automatically created rcuHome:
Note: If you want to maintain a standard for installation, suggest that this file is extracted where your installation of Middleware.
Enter the folder ../Downloads/rcuHome/bin and run the command:
sudo ./rcu
In the screenshot below click Next
Leave the Create option selected and click Next
Now fill as the information from your database, in my case the Oracle XE and click Next
In this screen below click Ignore
Click OK
Below let Create a new Prefix option checked and the DEV name that is the default and below in Componet select:

Note: See that scoring only this option, it will mark the other necessary for you as above:
Click Next, then the screen below, then click OK
In this next screen to be very careful the password you will enter, because we will use it later to install SOASuite. (I suggest storing it somewhere not to forget), then click Next
In the screenshot below click Next again
Now click OK
Click OK again
Now click Create
In the screenshot below click Close
Successfully completed installation.
