Installing Oracle 11g SOA Suite – Part 5: SOA Suite

In this post we will install the SOA Suite version 11.1.1.7.0

SOA Suite is the real JEE application that contains the SOA engines
will be deployed on WebLogic.

The installation is being done on Ubuntu Linux 64bit version: 14.04, the minimum hardware and software for Oracle 11g SOA Suite installation can be found here: http://docs.oracle.com/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm 

The facility is divided into parts as follows, see the link each to see the other Parties:

Download SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0

Download the required file using the link:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/downloads/soasuite11gdownload-2210918.html

Here, click Accept License Agreement

Select the Generic: 64bit JVM

Now there are two downloads should realize that since the SOA Suite is divided into two parts.

First Download:

Click Download standing next to the SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0 Part 1 of 2

You see the Login screen below if you do not have an account please create it will be necessary for the other downloads.

When you see the screen below, click Save File and then click OK

Second to Download:

Click Download standing next to the SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0 Part 2 of 2

When you see the screen below, click Save File and then click OK

Performed the Downloads, the following files should be in the folder ../Downloads

  • ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_1of2.zip
  • ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_2of2.zip

Now let’s unpack our archives:

Enter the folder where was downloaded and unzip the files by running the two commands below:

  • sudo unzip ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_1of2.zip
  • sudo unzip ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_2of2.zip

Here, you can see the ../Downloads folder as the first file  ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_1of2.zip uncompressed, will generate the folders Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3 and the second file ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_2of2.zip will generate the DISK4 folders, Disk5 and Disk6

Note: All of these folders must be within the same directory (in my case, Disk1, Disk2, Disk3, Disk4, Disk5, Disk6 are within the folder Downloads)

Enter the first folder (…/Downloads/Disk1
and run the file runInstaller as follows:

  • ./runInstaller      (Do not use sudo)

In the screenshot below, it will ask the path of your jdk file to run

In my case put /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_71

In the screenshot below, leave the values as already and click OK

In the screenshot below it will prompt you to open another window and run the file createCentralInventory.sh, then DO NOT CLICK still OK

Open another command prompt run it as below.

  • sudo /home/uans/oraInventory/createCentralIventory.sh

Note: Note that in my case I am within my institutional foodservice home, in your machine enter the path where your are 🙂

Okay, now click OK on the screen below:

In the screenshot below click Next

In this screen below select the Skip Software Updates option and click Next

In the screenshot below it will occur two of the Oracle recommendations errors on the operating system and kernel parameters, then going “Only” the errors below then click Continue, but if the problems are others stop here and check the problems in question:

In the screenshot below in Oracle Middlware Home is where we installed our Server, but by default he will appear, just click Next without changing any value.

Below just click Next

Now click Install

Please wait until the Installation

After the end as below click Next

Showing the screen below, your installation was successful, then click Finish
